It’s a two-parter this week on The Gardening Mind, with the ‘Digging Around with…’ interview coming on Thursday.

And today: in the UK we’ve been enjoying the first couple of days of a forecast heatwave, and as this is an unusual occurrence, we’re busy eyeing the garden to see what we can do to help it through this week.

Plus: you can be getting on with planting your daffodil bulbs and other spring bulbs soon-ish (not when it’s so hot though) - apart from tulips which you need to wait till late October, preferably November onwards, to plant1. I‘ve put together the first part of my new recommendations and combinations just for you, including some very special ones that I know you’ll love. I’ve spent the winter months putting these together for you, and I’ve grown them all previously in my garden, so that I can say to you hand-on-heart that they work, and that they work together.
