As if you don’t tempt us with enough plants you’re also tempting us with beautiful books. Maybe I can just create some pretty book covers for existing books but it’s not quite the same. I bet they never end up in charity ships.
I do love colour charts and colour names. I am completely in awe of people who can take a flower and create an accurate paint swatch of the various colours.
I started cutting back my lavender Grosso yesterday but there were some bees still flying in and out of it, so I will leave it until they've all gone. In this heat I don't want to remove any food sources too early!
Those Manderlay Books are fantastic aren’t they Jo? I started with Edinburgh as I’m off to Scotland next week. I must be the only person alive who hasn’t seen the Odyssey yet! I’m ashamed to say I don’t think I clocked the fact that there were boats in the Wave picture 🫨
Oh the bin store of dreams! Our wheelie bins are green, brown, bright blue, shocking pink/purple (yes, 4 wheelie bins), and an orange box for glass, and I'm longing to see less of them.

The August journal is brilliant. Do you know the Bodleian Libraries 'Medieval Mondays' on the dreaded Facebook? The one from 27 July with medieval out of office messages is priceless.
The reading of the image from left to right or vice versa is fascinating, and I've inflicted the post on the family WhatsApp group just now.
I would buy the Manderley Press editions for the cover illustrations alone. Book illustration is such a wonderful thing. Do you follow Deborah Vass https://stillsketching.substack.com/? She writes about the hidden stories of women artists. There are quite a few flower and plant-related posts this summer. Highly recommended.
I recently came across Claire MacDonald and I’ve no idea how her cookery isn’t more widely known; brilliant. I’m off to look at Rhubarb Rhubarb too, although I actually detest rhubarb!
So many things to explore - I am going to have look at the Bodleian’s fb! And the covers and the endpapers of Manderley Press books are just exquisite.
