I live in a house with a small garden, in the middle of the village.
When I first moved here, there wasn’t much of a garden at all, just a drive and a bit of scrappy, parched lawn, and the dustiest of desolate soils. No-one would buy the house precisely because it appeared to lack the outside space that we all dream of.
