I’m back from three days of chairing judging at the Hampton Court - and let me tell you: it was HOT.

I absolutely take my hat off to everyone who built a garden there. With little shade in many areasand rock-solid ground, creating a realistic garden space that looks as if it’s been there forever is even trickier than usual. But my goodness they did it. And they did it well. Along with the gardens, the RHS have gone above, beyond, even bigger and even better by asking designers to come up with some fabulous, thought-provokingly beautiful and fascinating show features:
